Join Bike to the Future

Members of Bike to the Future agree with our mission and vision and support it. We are a volunteer-run, incorporated, non-profit organization that is only as strong as our membership.

As of July 2010, Bike to the Future has 400 currently paid-up members, and over 1500 people on our announcement / newsletter list.

Renewals

  • All memberships taken out in 2008 (and the complimentary memberships given out in 2009) are now due for renewal.
  • Memberships purchased during 2009 are in effect until their one-year anniversary in 2010.
  • If you are not sure of your membership status, please contact BttF's Membership Committee Director.

There are a number ways to become a Bike to the Future member or renew your membership

  1. Purchase a membership online by using your credit card or PayPal account.
  2. Purchase a membership at one of our Monthly Meetings, at an event that our Membership Committee volunteers attend, or from any Director.
  3. Purchase a membership at the Mountain Equipment Co-op store (located at Portage & Donald). You must be a MEC member ($5 one-time cost) to purchase anything at MEC.
  4. Obtain a printed Annual Membership Application form or download and print it, complete the form, and send it along with cash or cheque to the address on the form.

When we issue your membership, we will send you a confirmation e-mail.

You'll need to obtain your membership card if you'd like to take advantage of the new-for-2009 15% discount for BttF members from participating bike shops.

Recruiting new members

All Bike to the Future members are encouraged to carry membership forms to hand out to other cyclists they encounter while cycling, and to hand out to people at athletic/enviro/wellness events that are likely to attract people who support or mission and vision.

Bike to the Future members are part of a volunteer-run, incorporated, non-profit organization that is working to make cycling in Winnipeg a safe, enjoyable, accessible and convenient transportation choice year-round.

Your membership fee goes towards expenses incurred

Expenses are reviewed by our members at our Monthly Meetings and approved by consensus of the Board of Directors.

Your BttF membership entitles you to a 15% discount from participating bike shops.
